This page collects the rules of conduct we try to follow. They are the concrete way we attempt to honour our ethical principles: without these, those stay declarations.
Who it applies to
It applies to all of us, the shareholders, employees and collaborators of Analytiko S.r.l., in our dealings with customers, suppliers, scientific partners and colleagues, on site and remotely. It applies equally to anyone collaborating on a research programme from outside.
How we behave
- We treat people fairly and courteously.
- We give accurate information and do not promise what we cannot deliver.
- We meet deadlines, and we give notice in good time when something is not going as planned.
- We admit mistakes early, and we tell the people who bear their consequences.
- We do not discriminate in any way.
Research conduct
- The hypothesis is stated before looking at the data, and is not rewritten after seeing it.
- Null results are published like any other.
- Data, code and protocols are retained and remain open to inspection for review.
- Each person's contribution is attributed for what it is: we do not sign work we did not contribute to, and we do not leave out those who did.
- When a result is uncertain we say so with the uncertainty attached, rather than dropping it to make the sentence stronger.
Confidentiality
The information entrusted to us stays confidential and is used only for the work agreed. This covers customer data, materials from scientific partners, and whatever is told to us by someone taking part in a study. How we process personal data is set out in our privacy policy.
Use of AI in our own work
We use artificial intelligence tools to do our work, not only to build products. There are two rules. We do not feed confidential customer data, partner materials or research data into third-party services. And whatever comes out of a model is checked by a person before it reaches a product, a document or an answer: a plausible text is not a true text.
Conflicts of interest
If we notice a possible conflict between a personal interest and that of the customer, the scientific partner or the company, we say so. Where it cannot be managed, we decline the work or step away from it.
One conflict concerns us particularly: our products carry a commercial interest, and research can produce results that do not suit that interest. In that case the result wins.
Gifts and favours
We neither offer nor accept gifts or favours that could influence a business decision or the outcome of an assessment.
Tools and access
We use company access, credentials and tools carefully and securely. Credentials are not shared, and anyone leaving a project loses the access they no longer need.
If something is wrong
Anyone who notices behaviour that does not follow these rules can write to [email protected]. We listen to every report made in good faith, and whoever makes one suffers no consequence for it. For matters concerning personal data you can address the data protection officer directly, saying so in the subject line.
